
At the 2025 CLADEC Annual General Meeting in November, the chairmanship of CLADEC passed from Francisco Ricaurte of UPS to Luiz Vasconcelos of FedEx. As president of FedEx’s Latin America and Caribbean Division, Mr. Vasconcelos maintains overall responsibility for the region, which includes approximately 23,000 team members in more than 50 countries and territories. Furthermore, he is responsible for integrating the region into the FedEx global network, which serves more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.
In 2018, Mr. Vasconcelos was promoted to Vice President of Operations for FedEx Express in Brazil, where he led the company’s planning and strategic activities and was responsible for overseeing all Brazilian operations including logistics, ground, air, and international transportation services. Prior to joining FedEx, Vasconcelos held other leadership positions at Rapidão Cometa, a transportation and logistics company acquired by FedEx in 2012. Mr. Vasconcelos also held leadership positions in consulting, including Mergers & Acquisitions at Ernst & Young and vice president of corporate finance at Versailles Group in Boston (USA).
Mr.Vasconcelos holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Catholic University of Pernambuco. He holds a specialization course in finance from Harvard University Extension School and an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
Mr. Vasconcelos currently serves on the Board of Directors of Council of the Americas and Northeastern University. He is the co-chair of the Trade Facilitation Working Group for the U.S.-Mexico CEO Dialogue, an organization founded by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the “Consejo Coordinador Empresarial” to strengthen economic and commercial ties between the two countries.
